About the role and clinic

We are looking for an experienced Small Animal Vet to join our wonderful team of 5 vets, a strong nursing team and dedicated practice manager. Our existing team of vets have nearly 40 years experience between them!

  • We encourage career growth and development, developing special interests or being fantastically all rounded general practitioners
  • Enjoy at least 2 days per week in surgery and dentistry along with a great balance of consults
  • This full-time role offers a 4 day week and 1 in 4 Saturdays.
  • Our clinic is well equipped complete with ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray and in-house lab
  • We are the first GP clinic in Christchurch to be offering laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery!
  • We have a spacious set up including separate dental suite, surgical theatre and prep room.
  • OurVets Halswell collaborate closely with our wider OurVets group – with regular meetings and CPD events.
  • We are a community focused clinic and enjoy engaging with our local community – we are based in a wonderful growing suburb with great clientele and some lovely local walks/parks close enough for a lunchtime stroll.

  • We are looking for a passionate Small Animal Vet with:
  • BVSc qualification (or equivalent) and registered, or eligibility to register to practice in New Zealand is required.
  • 4+ years of Small Animal Veterinarian experience, comfortable with routine surgery, dentistry and consultations
  • A special interest and strong competency in dentistry and surgery would be a perfect fit for our team
